How do I find what I am looking for?

Focus your search by selecting Food Products, Technologies, Food and Health, Food Safety, Market Studies or Livestock. Then select the area you are interested in. e.g. beef, cheese. In some instances you can narrow your search by selecting properties etc. Now you can choose ‘What you want?’ i.e. projects, researchers (experts), workshops or documents.

Quick search is a text based search that can find information based on words not included in the focused search.

Projects database includes the full list of projects based on their research theme. Each project has an overall project description and a link to researchers, institutes/ universities and project updates.

Institutes/universities provide details of the areas of expertise, strategic equipment and facilities, projects and researchers based at each institute/university.

RELAY workshops – links to the programme information for upcoming workshops and powerpoint presentation from past workshops.

Diary of events – highlights national and international food related events.

Reports and newsletters- is an archive of publications such as Teagasc end of project reports, TResearch, Moorepark Newletter, Ashtown Innovator and UCC agribusiness discussion papers.

Links provides a short description of the role of organisations that are of relevance to the food industry and a link to their own websites.


How do I find the projects I am interested in?

Focus your search by selecting Food Products, Technologies, Food and Health, Food Safety, Market Studies or Livestock. Then select the area you are interested in. e.g. beef, cheese. In some instances you can narrow your search by selecting properties etc. Now you can choose projects. You can find all the projects categorised on a research theme basis in the Projects database.


How do I keep updated on projects that I’m interested in?

You must become a registered user to tailor the information you receive. You can then control the information you get by highlighting the tick boxes for Food Products, Technologies, Food and Health, Food Safety, Market Studies or Livestock and pressing Update. Projects in the selected areas will now appear on your My projects page, the associate researchers will appear in you’re My researchers page and you will receive an email alert as new updates on these projects are issued.


If I am interested in getting involved in a project what do I do?

Contact details for the researcher or technology transfer officer are available at the end of a project alert or on the project detail page. You should contact them directly.


How does my company take commercial advantage of the project outcomes?

Each FIRM funded project is being evaluated for commercial opportunities by RELAY, the technology transfer office (TTO) and researcher. The TTO at the institute/university is responsible for managing this process. Contact details for each TTO is available under the institutes/university tab in the grey navigation bar on left hand side, alternatively contact RELAY.


How do I find an expert to solve my problem?

You can find them through focus your search by selecting the food product etc you are interested in and then selecting researchers under What do you want?

Or you can click on institute/universities, select an institute/university in the grey navigation section and then select the researchers tab for a list of researchers.


How do I know which institute/university has equipment/facilities that can help my R&D/solve my problem?

Each institute/university has an equipment tab that highlights the specialised equipment and facilities at that location. You can also do a quick search inserting the type of equipment/facilities you are interested in and then select institutes/ universities on the filter tab.


How do I find out about workshops and courses?

Programme detail of RELAY workshops will be emailed to you and there is a link to the upcoming workshops on the RELAY homepage. A calendar of other events/courses is available in the Diary of events section on the grey navigation section on the left side.
